This adorable couple first celebrated their American Heritgage this summer in a tradition 'western' wedding and will have a second, tradition Pakistani celebration, this fall. Thursdays Things We Love: Getting Ready for Summer Weddings

Summer is by far the most popular time to get married in the Pacific Northwest. If the weather behaves there is nothing like the sun shinning while you walk down the aisle. One thing to keep in mind during those hot summer months is making sure your guests are comfortable and taken care of. If you are planning an outdoor wedding check out these fun, practical, and creative ways to make sure your guest enjoy your wedding as much as you do.

Personalized Sunscreen:
Place a basket of small personalized sunscreen packets next to your guest book. Most guests don't think about that small detail when they are headed off to a wedding and they will be thankful you thought of it for them. Also offering a personalized sunscreen will definitly be memorable.

Hydration!
Offer guest water before they are seated. You can either personalize the water bottles you hand out or not; either way your guests will be grateful.

Comfort:
Providing Flip Flops for your guests is a great way to get them in to the summer time spirit! Flip flops also double as favors. Place several baskets of flip flops in an assortment of sizes around your outdoor reception. Select colors that either match or compliment your wedding colors.

Sun Protection:

Offer guests either fans or umbrellas to protect themselves from those harmful rays. These can also double as favors.

Weekly Bridal Beauty Tip: Guest Blogger, Lynaia Pulido Skin Care Specialist

So you've found the dress and the location. Now it's about you. Your skin, your brows and your bikini (or blingkini). It's time to prepare the three.

First off, your brows:
I recommend waiting at least 2 weeks without tweezing to get the perfect shape. For brows start by finding a great picture of yourself when your brows looked great other styles that you have liked.

Remember the big NO NO's:
Be off retin A and Renova for at least 2 weeks.

Stope using Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Hlycolic Acids for 48 hours and remember that anti-bioticts can effect the skin.

Star preparing about 4 to 6 months out. Estimate about every 3 to 4 weeks to work on your shape.

One thing that really makes the brows pop is a tint, just dark enough to to make that arch stand out a bit.

The Must Know Hair Style Info: Guest Blogger Kermit Allen

Finding the perfect look for your wedding day can be a little overwhelming, that’s why we asked Seattle based, award winning stylist, Kermit Allen what his advice is to anyone tying the knot!

Do:

Compile pictures that you love! Whether it be from magazines, the internet, or your own pictures of when you just loved the way your hair looked. It doesn’t need to be the complete look. I often tell my clients if they love the texture, accessories used, etc just bring it. Anything I can use to get a better idea of what they have in mind is helpful.

Find a stylist you’re comfortable with. If you don’t have a regular stylist or your regular stylist doesn’t do wedding styles; find an expert. Consultations should be complimentary, so book one! Usually a consultation is booked in a 15 minute time slot. It’s a great way for you to get a feel for a stylists work and determine if you feel like you are a good match. Insider tip: when you call to schedule your consultation ask the receptionist who the resident ‘wedding guru’ is. The receptionist sees all the finished products, knows who does the most weddings, and who’s the most popular.

Schedule a practice session no later than 2 weeks before the big day. Bring all accessories and your veil (if applicable) with you.

Don’t:

Color your hair, cut your hair, or make any drastic changes right before your big day. These appointments should be booked 1-2 weeks before your big day.

When you do color or cut your hair don’t do anything too different. You want to look like yourself and you especially don’t want to have a cut or color that distracts people from your natural beauty or your dress.

Don’t do anything too trendy. Trends come and go and they especially date your wedding pictures. You don’t want to look back in a couple of years and ask yourself what you were thinking. You want to lean towards a more timeless look when it comes to your overall style on your wedding day.

Bridal Party Expectations

When you look at the definition of bridesmaid you will see: “bride's attendant at wedding: a girl or woman who helps the bride on her wedding day”. This would typically include purchasing a dress and accessories for the wedding. Attend the bridal shower, buy the couple a gift and stand up front during the wedding.

But for those of you who have been a bridesmaid you know this list is actually much longer. We are often asked by our clients, “what is expected of my bridesmaids?” or “what is acceptable for me to ask of them?” So we decided to make a realistic list of what’s expected of both your bridesmaids and your maid of honor.

Show up for dress shopping, fittings, and purchase the dress

Purchase the shoes and accessories decided on by the bride

Be available for random panic attacks or breakdowns by the bride

Listen to the endless conversations the bride will have about her groom, in laws, and planning process

Address invitations

Attend engagement party

Attend and help plan if asked the bridal showers (some brides have more than one, if you are a bridesmaid you should attend the main shower and try to attend the family shower as well, if you are the maid of honor you should try to attend all of them)

At the showers MOH should write the gifts down and who they are from as the bride opens them.

Attend and help plan if asked the bachelorette party (if the maid of honor you should be involved in the planning)

Attend the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner (MOH may be asked to give a toast at dinner)

Be educated about the couple’s details of where they are registered, where to send gifts, etc.

Hopefully this helps each of you navigate through the delicate world of bridal parties. As you can see,

bridesmaids are an integral part of a wedding and the planning process. Lesson: Be wise in your selection of bridesmaids to make sure you have bridesmaids who will properly support you and be more than just the “definition” of a bridesmaid.
